National Association of Manufacturers Appoints Duncan Gillis as Board Member

 

Chicago, Ill. (July 10, 2013) — John Crane President and CEO Duncan Gillis joins the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Board of Directors on behalf of John Crane and parent company Smiths Group plc. The NAM is the nation’s largest industrial trade association, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. Manufacturing employs nearly 12 million workers, contributes more than $1.6 trillion to the U.S. economy annually, and is the largest driver of economic growth in the nation. Members of the Board provide national and global perspectives on the impact of federal government action on manufacturing growth and contribute leadership and expertise to the NAM’s policy development process.

Gillis was appointed to the role of President and CEO of John Crane Group, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, in October 2012. John Crane is a world-leading provider of engineered products and services to a global customer base across energy services and other major process industries. Previously, Gillis was President and CEO of Algeco Scotsman Group, and prior held several leadership positions with United Technologies Corporation (UTC), Procter & Gamble, and McKinsey & Company.
